Trondenes will be a good starting point for a walk along "Stien Langs Sjøen". But the trail is long, it goes through several different districts and offers many different impressions and activities. It is therefore up to the individual to decide where he / she wants to start, experience and end "Stien Langs Sjøen".
Follow road 83 north out of Harstad center. Turn right at the roundabout on Sama and follow the signs to Trondenes church. You can either park by Trondenes church or up by the crematorium.
"Stien Langs Sjøen" offers many varied hiking and adventure options. It can be experienced, for example, by walking along the route. Along the way, there are many things to see and experience. It is also possible in several places to sit down on a bench or quayside. Or you find a place along the route, rural or close to the center, alone or with others, where you can accept that this is a pleasant place to be.
Each time you can choose a new place to start, experience or end the trip. There are plenty of places and experiences for the whole family.
This trip offers many impressions and activities. The individual experience of these will depend on, among other things, age, gender, mood, season and weather and wind conditions. It is therefore difficult to highlight one one that are suitable for everyone.
But you should be very uninterested if you do not perceive any of this as worth taking with you:
Ruins after Soviet prisoner of war camp, medieval church Trondenes church, flower and herb garden, medieval farm with livestock,
proximity to nature (sky, sea and mountains), shipyard industry, museums, decorations, marina, fishing from the quayside, culture house,
play and tumble areas, activities at sea and in the city, etc.etc.
Most of the trip goes along prepared paths, roads and quay promenades. Parts of the trip go along a road, without a pedestrian and bicycle path, but with a reduced speed limit.
It is difficult to experience the whole "Path Along the Sea" in just one day! Set aside plenty of time, and feel free to come back!
